05-10-2010 Scott County Farmer's Market returns to Scott County Fairgrounds for 2010 season!  Due to some technical difficulties the Scott County Farmer's Market is returning to the Fairgrounds for the 2010 season.  The fairgrounds is located on Hwy 31 near the south edge of town.  The market opens Saturday May 15th from 7:00am - 1:00pm. We will begin offering our new salad mixes and salad greens on opening day.  Hope to see you there.

04-06-2010 Scott County Farmer's Market is moving! The Scott County Farmer's Market is moving out of the fairground and into the lot next to Marriann's Restaurant on Hwy 56 in Scottsburg. The market will be in the lot just east of the restaurant which is at the corner of Hwy 56 and the I-65 North ramp. Hope to see you there. 10-07-09  2009 Season: We had a great 2009 season in spite of all the damp weather and some major crop failures.  We suffered losses of cabbage, lettuce, broccoli, cauliflower, sugar snap peas to rabbits and sweet corn to weeds.  Tomatoes were eventually overcome by blight from the damp weather as well.  Squash failed due to vine borers.  We will rethink our crop mix over the winter.  We welcome your input regarding varieties you would like for us to grow and make available.  Just email me.

07-05-09  Blackberries, Tomatoes, Peppers:  Blackberries & tomatoes are starting to ripen.  Banana peppers are still going strong.  Jalapenos are becoming available.  Look for them at the Scottsburg Farmer's Market on Saturdays or make arrangements to pick them up at one of our locations.  Sweet corn is starting to tassle and will be available soon.  I'll keep you posted.

05-20-09  New Farmer's Market at Scottsburg.  Located at the Scott County Fairgrounds at the edge of town on Hwy 31 south.  The Market began on May 2nd and is now open Tuesdays, Thrusdays, and Saturdays 7:00am to 1:00pm.  Locally grown plants, fruit and vegetables as well as some processed goods and honey will be sold as available.  WIC coupons will be accepted by some vendors.  Please come out and pick up some great tasting locally grown food and support your local farmers.  We look forward to seeing you there.
